How long will your pictures last?
ChromaLuxe has been tested using Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc. who conduct accelerated light exposure and dark ageing tests to determine the comparative life expectancy of inkjet and other digitally printed photographs, as well as that of traditional black-and-white and colour photographs.
Epson Ink Test
Using the Epson ink set, ChromaLuxe achieved a Wilhelm Display Permanence Rating of 65 years.
Sawgrass Ink Test
Using the Sawgrass ink set, ChromaLuxe achieved a Wilhelm Display Permanence Rating of 64 years.
*Sublimation printing, also referred to as dye sublimation printing, is a printing method for transferring high resolution images from paper onto an appropriate substrate. The conversion is initiated by heat and controlled with pressure and time. The high temperature – from a heat transfer press – opens the pores of the polymer and allows the gas to enter. When the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. The print then becomes part of the polymer.
